PROFESSIONAL BOXING TRAINER BASED IN LONDON.
PROUD YORKSHIREMAN, WITH THE WARRIOR HEART OF A VIKING.
ATTEMPTING TO BEAT THE WORLD RECORD OF ROWING SOLO ACROSS THE ATLANTIC.
I’m embarking on the biggest, toughest and most worthwhile challenge of my life. I am entering the 2020 Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge and have chosen to row solo across the Atlantic and attempt to beat the world record.
I will be navigating 3,000 miles unassisted, confronting unpredictable weather, extreme conditions and relentless currents that can all weigh heavy on the body and the mind.
I have no doubt I will go through every physical and mental extreme possible and that’s why my partnership with The Movember Foundation, the largest men’s health charity in the world, is so fitting; with all the money I raise, helping to fund research and treatments that will help stop men dying too young. The Movember Foundation works on 3 cause areas; prostate cancer, testicular cancer and men’s mental health, the last of which is particularly close to my heart, as that work targets men to keep them mentally healthy by taking action during tough times.
13 years as a (London) fire fighter placed me in many stressful situations.
All too often I had to face and over-come intense ‘flight or fight’ moments in very extreme environments, then latterly as a professional boxer in the ring, the relentless physical training, discipline and challenges I undertook on a daily basis. All of these will undoubtedly give me the focus and determination needed, for what is widely recognised as the toughest endurance race on earth.
My aim is to raise £100,000 sponsorship, initially to cover the race entry fee, the purchase of the boat I will be trusting in, shipping, equipment etc. (all of which will be precisely itemised and documented).
The Atlantic Challenge has a rich history of achievement over adversity and I feel strongly that your business and brand could align perfectly with this and my values of commitment, perseverance and resilience.
The race is broadly covered by the media, including over 1700 media hits in 40 countries, a SKY Sports documentary and a race website that generates 37 million hits. But not only that, I am seriously aiming to promote myself as a credible contender to beat the Guinness World Record, which will of course add significantly to the media coverage and social media engagement.
I am absolutely committed to achieving the very best race-time possible, and to raise awareness for my sponsors and charities along my journey, so please seriously consider my pitch for your brand endorsement. Click here for sponsorship packages.
